World Elephant Day
August 15 @ 8:00 am - 12:30 pm
Are you wild about elephants? Join the Zoo for an ‘elephantastic’ World Elephant Day event on Saturday, August 15 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. as we celebrate the Zoo’s herd and their cousins in the wild. Share the wonder as the elephant team provides special enrichment for the elephants and hear from them on what it takes to care for these gentle giants each day.
Test your skill in the trunk game and join in elephant-themed activities. Kids can wallow in the mud like the elephants do with special mud wallows — be sure to dress them in clothes that can get dirty and be hosed off. It’s trunks up to the gentle giants of the savanna. 🐘
