DESCRIPTION:¡Viva la cultura! Join Nuestras Raíces in celebrating El Grito\, Mexican Independence Day\, and the start of Mes de la Cultura (Hispanic Heritage Month)\, on Wednesday\, September 16th\, 4:30 pm at the Richard Elías-Mission Library! The whole family is invited. There will be mariachi and folklorico performances\, refreshments\, book giveaways for children\, and more. El Consulado de México en Tucson will lead us in the El Grito ceremony and then we will be mesmerized by Mariachi Los Diablitos de Sunnyside and Los Diablitos Azules Folklorico of Sunnyside. There will be treats courtesy of La Estrella Bakery as well. \nDo you have any traditional Mexican clothing you want to show off? This is the time! Come dressed up to the event because there will be a photo opportunity! In Mexico\, people often wear china poblana skirts or dress up like heroes of the Mexican Independence or Adelitas. You can also dress up in embroidered shirts\, folklorico dresses\, rebozos\, trajes\, or simply your favorite outfit. We hope to see you there!\n*\n*\n*\n¡Viva la cultura! Nuestras Raíces los invita a celebrar El Grito\, el Día de la Independencia de México\, y el comienzo del Mes de la Cultura\, el miércoles\, 16 de septiembre\, a las 4:30 pm en la Biblioteca Richard Elías-Mission. Toda la familia es bienvenida. Habrá presentaciones de mariachi y folklórico\, pan dulce\, regalaremos libros a los niños\, y mucho más. El Consulado de México en Tucson hará la ceremonia de El Grito\, y luego disfrutaremos las presentaciones de Mariachi Los Diablitos de Sunnyside and Los Diablitos Azules Folklorico de Sunnyside.
